Les r\u00e9sidents de l'\u00c9difice comm\u00e9moratif des anciens combattants Camp Hill sont toujours un groupe amical et accueillant, mais attention - ils prennent leurs parties de p\u00e9tanque tr\u00e8s au s\u00e9rieux.<\/p>\n

Des invit\u00e9s sp\u00e9ciaux de la BFC Halfax et des Mooseheads de Halifax l'ont constat\u00e9 le 20 septembre, lorsqu'ils se sont joints \u00e0 une partie de p\u00e9tanque pour marquer l'ouverture de la nouvelle aire d'activit\u00e9s ext\u00e9rieures de Camp Hill.<\/p>\n

Nouvellement ajout\u00e9e au populaire Jardin comm\u00e9moratif des anciens combattants situ\u00e9 juste \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur de l'\u00e9difice, cette aire d'activit\u00e9s offre de nouvelles possibilit\u00e9s de loisirs aux anciens combattants qui vivent \u00e0 Camp Hill, et des jeux comme la p\u00e9tanque ne sont plus confin\u00e9s aux espaces int\u00e9rieurs.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Il est accessible aux fauteuils roulants, ce qui nous permettra de jouer \u00e0 des jeux en plein air et de pratiquer un peu plus d'activit\u00e9s physiques \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur, ce qui est formidable. Cela nous ouvre des possibilit\u00e9s \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Heather White, directrice des services aux anciens combattants de Camp Hill.<\/p>\n

Les fonds recueillis pour le projet proviennent en grande partie du soutien g\u00e9n\u00e9reux des partisans des Mooseheads de Halifax, par l'entremise du tirage au sort et de la vente aux ench\u00e8res de maillots port\u00e9s lors de la soir\u00e9e annuelle de reconnaissance du MDN de l'\u00e9quipe. Chaque ann\u00e9e, les concepteurs des Programmes de soutien du personnel (PSP) de la BFC Halifax contribuent \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de maillots Moosehead sp\u00e9ciaux sur le th\u00e8me des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes (FAC) pour l'occasion, et les membres locaux des FAC donnent de leur temps pour vendre des tirages au sort afin de courir la chance de remporter un maillot port\u00e9 lors d'un match. Le partenariat entre les Mooseheads et les Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes existe depuis 2008.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Les recettes de la soir\u00e9e d'appr\u00e9ciation du MDN ont permis de r\u00e9aliser de nombreux projets. Je ne saurais trop insister sur le fait que nous sommes reconnaissants du soutien des Mooseheads et de leurs partisans \u00bb, a ajout\u00e9 White.<\/p>\n

L'argent a \u00e9galement servi \u00e0 l'entretien g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du jardin comm\u00e9moratif, qui est d\u00e9crit comme un sanctuaire ext\u00e9rieur pour les r\u00e9sidents de Camp Hill, tout en servant d'endroit pour comm\u00e9morer et honorer le service de tous les membres des forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Depuis le d\u00e9but des ventes aux ench\u00e8res de maillots, nous avons recueilli plus de 242 000 $, contribuant ainsi directement \u00e0 Camp Hill et \u00e0 la Fondation QE2 \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Capitaine de fr\u00e9gate (Capf) Chris Gabriel, commandant du service de logistique de la BFC Halifax, qui repr\u00e9sentait la base et a aid\u00e9 \u00e0 couper le ruban pour d\u00e9voiler officiellement le nouvel espace en plein air.<\/p>\n

Le Capf Gabriel et Scott MacIntosh des Mooseheads se sont joints \u00e0 un certain nombre d'anciens combattants de Camp Hill pour les premi\u00e8res parties officielles de bocce sur le nouveau terrain, avant de l'ouvrir \u00e0 d'autres r\u00e9sidents et invit\u00e9s. \u00ab Depuis de nombreuses ann\u00e9es, nous r\u00eavions de terminer cette aire d'activit\u00e9s, et nous sommes tr\u00e8s heureux de voir tout le monde en profiter aujourd'hui \u00bb, a ajout\u00e9 Missy Sonier, gestionnaire des services minist\u00e9riels des Programmes de soutien du personnel (PSP) \u00e0 la BFC Halifax, qui a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le cl\u00e9 dans l'organisation des parties annuelles de la soir\u00e9e de reconnaissance du MDN et dans l'\u00e9tablissement d'un lien entre la base et les Mooseheads d'Halifax.<\/p>\n
