Le 1er groupe maritime permanent OTAN (SNMG1) et le 1er groupe permanent OTAN de lutte contre les mines (SNMCMG1) ont rejoint plus de 3 000 marins, marines et aviateurs pour l'exercice Northern Coasts 2023 qui s'est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 dans la partie centrale de la mer Baltique, dans les eaux territoriales de la Lettonie et de l'Estonie, du 11 au 22 septembre.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cet exercice maritime \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle, dirig\u00e9 par l'Allemagne, est con\u00e7u pour d\u00e9velopper une interop\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 de haut niveau et d\u00e9montrer l'\u00e9tat de pr\u00e9paration au combat et la d\u00e9termination des nations participantes \u00e0 dissuader toute agression.<\/span><\/p>\n

L'exercice Northern Coasts est un exercice annuel qui a d\u00e9but\u00e9 en 2007. Cette ann\u00e9e, quatorze pays membres de l'OTAN et le pays partenaire, la Su\u00e8de, ont particip\u00e9 \u00e0 cet exercice r\u00e9aliste d'entra\u00eenement en conditions r\u00e9elles, qui comportait des d\u00e9fis tactiques complexes dans l'environnement maritime. La force comprenait pr\u00e8s de 30 navires et plus de 15 a\u00e9ronefs travaillant ensemble et partageant des informations et des tactiques pour atteindre les objectifs de la mission. Les NCSM Summerside et Shawinigan ont particip\u00e9 \u00e0 l'exercice canadien dans le cadre du SNMCMG1.\u00a0 <\/span>

\n<\/span>\u00ab En participant \u00e0 l'exercice Northern Coasts, nous avons montr\u00e9 que le SNMG1 est agile et pr\u00eat \u00e0 agir comme un seul homme pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 toute menace \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le commandant du SNMG1, le contre-amiral Thorsten Marx, de la marine allemande. \u00ab Nous sommes toujours pr\u00eats \u00e0 saisir toutes les occasions de nous entra\u00eener avec nos alli\u00e9s et nos partenaires. Northern Coasts faisait partie du solide programme d'exercices et d'entra\u00eenement men\u00e9 par mon groupe op\u00e9rationnel afin de maintenir notre haut niveau de pr\u00e9paration au combat. Aujourd'hui, plus que jamais, il est important pour l'Alliance de d\u00e9montrer sa capacit\u00e9 et sa volont\u00e9 de se prot\u00e9ger, de patrouiller dans les eaux et de faire preuve de solidarit\u00e9, de force et d'une dissuasion cr\u00e9dible. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Les participants se sont entra\u00een\u00e9s dans un large \u00e9ventail de disciplines de guerre maritime au cours de deux phases. La premi\u00e8re phase comprenait un programme d'entra\u00eenement en s\u00e9rie visant \u00e0 accro\u00eetre l'interop\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 et les comp\u00e9tences de combat. La deuxi\u00e8me phase comprenait des probl\u00e8mes de niveau tactique caract\u00e9ris\u00e9s par des situations changeant rapidement et une menace continue, simul\u00e9e par le centre de contr\u00f4le de l'exercice, situ\u00e9 \u00e0 pr\u00e8s de 1 000 km de l\u00e0, \u00e0 Rostock, en Allemagne. Pour la premi\u00e8re fois dans l'histoire de l'exercice, un sc\u00e9nario s'est \u00e9galement d\u00e9roul\u00e9 dans le cadre de l'article 5 (d\u00e9fense collective).<\/span><\/p>\n

Le SNMCMG1 a men\u00e9 des op\u00e9rations r\u00e9elles de neutralisation de munitions historiques au cours de l'exercice. Le groupe a localis\u00e9 et neutralis\u00e9 plus de dix mines marines datant de la Seconde Guerre mondiale le long des c\u00f4tes des \u00c9tats baltes, ce qui a eu un impact significatif sur la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de tous les marins.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Je suis tr\u00e8s heureux que le SNMCMG1 ait pu participer \u00e0 cet exercice\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le commandant du SNMCMG1, le commandant de la marine polonaise Piotr Bartosewicz. \"Le nombre de vestiges de la Seconde Guerre mondiale qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couverts et neutralis\u00e9s montre que notre travail est utile. Les exercices tels que Northern Coasts constituent une occasion id\u00e9ale de renforcer la coop\u00e9ration entre les navires du groupe et ceux qui participent \u00e0 l'exercice \u00e0 titre individuel, ainsi que de s'entra\u00eener avec des sp\u00e9cialistes dans notre domaine. Je me r\u00e9jouis \u00e9galement du d\u00e9veloppement continu des capacit\u00e9s de lutte contre les mines dans les \u00c9tats membres de l'OTAN.<\/span><\/p>\n

Au cours de l'exercice, les efforts de collaboration des pays participants ont mis en \u00e9vidence l'engagement ferme de l'Alliance en faveur de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 maritime. La nature multinationale de l'exercice a non seulement renforc\u00e9 l'interop\u00e9rabilit\u00e9, mais a \u00e9galement favoris\u00e9 la confiance mutuelle entre les membres de l'OTAN. Les op\u00e9rations men\u00e9es dans les eaux territoriales de la Lettonie et de l'Estonie ont mis en \u00e9vidence l'importance de la s\u00e9curisation des routes maritimes critiques dans la r\u00e9gion de la Baltique, qui sont essentielles pour le commerce et la stabilit\u00e9 r\u00e9gionale.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le SNMG1 et le SNMCMG1 sont les deux groupes maritimes du Nord de l'OTAN et op\u00e8rent sous le commandement maritime alli\u00e9 de l'OTAN (MARCOM). Bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Northwood, au Royaume-Uni, le MARCOM est le commandement central de toutes les forces maritimes de l'OTAN et le commandant du MARCOM est le principal conseiller maritime de l'Alliance.
