M. Bill Pratt, premier ma\u00eetre de 1re classe (retrait\u00e9), a servi dans la Marine royale canadienne pendant 27 ans. Pendant cette p\u00e9riode, Bill Pratt a grandi en se d\u00e9pla\u00e7ant d'une base \u00e0 l'autre \u00e0 travers le pays et consid\u00e8re tout le Canada comme sa ville natale.<\/p>\n

Pratt est n\u00e9 le 15 d\u00e9cembre 1963 \u00e0 Halifax, en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse, et a \u00e9t\u00e9 baptis\u00e9 \u00e0 bord du porte-avions canadien NCSM Bonaventure. Il s'est engag\u00e9 dans la Marine royale du Canada le 23 avril 1981, \u00e0 l'\u00e2ge de 17 ans. En 1991, avant de s'engager dans la marine, Bill a suivi une formation culinaire dans une \u00e9cole de m\u00e9tiers \u00e0 Brandon, au Manitoba, pendant trois ans, et a obtenu un dipl\u00f4me de cuisinier qualifi\u00e9. Il a \u00e9galement suivi des cours du soir au Northern Institute of Technology d'Edmonton, en Alberta, et a obtenu le titre de chef de cuisine certifi\u00e9 (CCC).<\/p>\n

Bill s'est peut-\u00eatre engag\u00e9 dans la marine en tant que cuisinier, mais il s'est \u00e9galement qualifi\u00e9 comme sous-marinier, plongeur de sauvetage de navire et stewart de vol au sein de l'escadron de transport no 412 \u00e0 Ottawa (Ontario) au cours de sa carri\u00e8re.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les navires et les sous-marins sur lesquels Pratt a servi sont les suivants : NCSM Ottawa, NCSM Athabaskan, NCSM Margaree, NCSM Porte St. Louis, HMY Britannia, NCSM MacKenzie, NCSM Huron, NCSM Onondaga, NCSM Ojibwa, NCSM Okanagan et NCSM Montr\u00e9al. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 affect\u00e9 \u00e0 bord du NCSM Onondaga en 1997, mais a suivi sa formation et navigu\u00e9 sur le NCSM Okanagan, puis s'est qualifi\u00e9 et a \u00e9t\u00e9 chef cuisinier sur le NCSM Ojibwa en 1998.<\/p>\n

Pratt a re\u00e7u la m\u00e9daille de membre de l'Ordre du m\u00e9rite militaire MMM, la m\u00e9daille du service sp\u00e9cial SSM et la d\u00e9coration et rosette des Forces canadiennes CD1. Il a pris sa retraite en mai 2008 avec le grade de CPO1 (chef des services alimentaires du commandement).<\/span><\/p>\n

Pratt est mari\u00e9 \u00e0 Nancy Santeire-Pratt, originaire de Rivi\u00e8re-du-Loup, au Qu\u00e9bec. Mme Pratt a servi pendant 22 ans dans l'Aviation royale du Canada en tant que contr\u00f4leuse du trafic a\u00e9rien. Au moment de sa retraite, Nancy avait le grade de caporal-chef, contr\u00f4leur radio. Ils se sont mari\u00e9s \u00e0 Edmonton (Alberta) en 1992 et ont deux fils qui sont \u00e9galement chefs cuisiniers dans le secteur de de l'h\u00f4tellerie et de la restauration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

En 1983, Bill a \u00e9t\u00e9 choisi pour servir \u00e0 bord du yacht de la Reine \"Britannia\", travaillant dans la cuisine royale et cuisinant pour le Prince Charles (l'actuel Roi Charles III) et la d\u00e9funte Princesse Diana.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

En 2002, il a travaill\u00e9 comme chef de production pour le Comit\u00e9 international olympique pendant les Jeux olympiques de Salt Lake. Bill a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 son deuxi\u00e8me \u00e9v\u00e9nement sportif mondial en tant que chef ex\u00e9cutif du village des athl\u00e8tes \u00e0 Whistler pendant les Jeux olympiques de Vancouver, o\u00f9 il a servi plus de 14 000 repas par jour.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s avoir pris sa retraite de la MRC, Pratt s'est mis \u00e0 son compte. Il poss\u00e8de aujourd'hui des restaurants dans toute la Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse ainsi qu'au Nouveau-Brunswick et cherche \u00e0 se d\u00e9velopper encore plus au Canada. Il est le PDG du Chef Inspired Group of Restaurants, qui compte aujourd'hui plus de 20 \u00e9tablissements sous des enseignes telles que Cheese Curds Gourmet Burger and Poutinerie, Habeneros Modern Taco Bar, TR Trattoria, et Studio East Asian Gastropub, en plus d'un certain nombre de food trucks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Il poss\u00e8de \u00e9galement une entreprise de conseil en restauration, est membre du conseil d'administration de Restaurants Canada en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse, et Bill se retrouve r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00e0 faire du conseil dans le secteur de l'h\u00f4tellerie et de la restauration et \u00e0 aider les autres pendant son temps libre.<\/span><\/p>\n
