Le Royaume-Uni prend le commandement du SNMG2<\/b><\/h3>\n

Par les affaires publiques du MARCOM de l'OTAN<\/b><\/p>\n

Le Commodore Paul Stroude, de la Royal Navy, a pris le commandement du 2e groupe maritime permanent OTAN (SNMG2) \u00e0 Tarente (Italie) le 30 juin 23. Le commandant du Commandement maritime alli\u00e9 (MARCOM), le vice-amiral Mike Utley de la Royal Navy, a pr\u00e9sid\u00e9 la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de passation de commandement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Si cela marque un changement \u00e0 la t\u00eate du SNMG2, c'est aussi un signe de continuit\u00e9 - une continuit\u00e9 \u00e9tay\u00e9e par les trois d\u00e9cennies pendant lesquelles ce groupe op\u00e9rationnel a patrouill\u00e9 dans ces eaux, alors que nous c\u00e9l\u00e9brons le passage de t\u00e9moin d'un alli\u00e9 de l'OTAN \u00e0 un autre \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le vice-amiral Utley. \u00ab C'est un rappel de la promesse qui existe au c\u0153ur de l'Alliance : c'est dans notre force collective que r\u00e9side la garantie de la paix et de la stabilit\u00e9 pour tous nos pays. \u00bb\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le groupe de travail m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en re\u00e7oit \u00e9galement un nouveau navire amiral britannique, le destroyer HMS Duncan de cat\u00e9gorie 45 de la Royal Navy. Le SNMG2 est l'un des quatre groupes de travail navals permanents qui composent la force op\u00e9rationnelle interarm\u00e9es \u00e0 tr\u00e8s haut niveau de pr\u00e9paration (maritime) de l'OTAN.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Les \u00c9tats-Unis ont pris le commandement du SNMG2 quelques mois apr\u00e8s que le groupe op\u00e9rationnel a \u00e9t\u00e9 activ\u00e9 en tant qu'unit\u00e9 de force op\u00e9rationnelle interarm\u00e9es \u00e0 tr\u00e8s haut niveau de pr\u00e9paration pour la premi\u00e8re fois dans un r\u00f4le de dissuasion et de d\u00e9fense en r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 l'invasion de l'Ukraine par la Russie.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
