Promouvoir des habitudes durables en mati\u00e8re d'environnement au sein des FMAR(A)<\/b><\/h3>\n

La Semaine canadienne de l'environnement est c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9e chaque ann\u00e9e pendant la semaine du 5 juin pour co\u00efncider avec la Journ\u00e9e mondiale de l'environnement des Nations unies (5 juin). Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 1971 pour sensibiliser les Canadiens aux probl\u00e8mes de climat et de pollution. Au cours de la semaine de l'environnement, la Journ\u00e9e de l'air pur (7 juin) et la Journ\u00e9e mondiale des oc\u00e9ans (8 juin) sont \u00e9galement c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9es pour attirer l'attention sur l'air que nous respirons et les oc\u00e9ans sur lesquels nous op\u00e9rons.<\/p>\n

Cette ann\u00e9e, au cours de la semaine de l'environnement, la division S\u00e9curit\u00e9 et environnement des FMAR(A) a soulign\u00e9 l'importance d'un mode de vie respectueux de l'environnement. Nous avons organis\u00e9 un concours de photos sur la nature, visant \u00e0 sensibiliser les membres du MDN et des FAC \u00e0 la beaut\u00e9 de notre environnement naturel. Avec pr\u00e8s de 100 photos soumises par le personnel des FMAR(A), trois heureux participants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s au hasard pour gagner un laissez-passer d'une journ\u00e9e pour un lieu historique national, offert par Parcs Canada, \u00e0 utiliser en Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les responsables de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et de l'environnement des FMAR(A) ont \u00e9galement install\u00e9 des kiosques d'information \u00e0 l'arsenal CSM, \u00e0 Stadacona et \u00e0 la 12e Escadre au cours de la semaine afin de sensibiliser les membres de l'\u00c9quipe de la D\u00e9fense. Le personnel de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et de l'environnement de la base ainsi qu'un repr\u00e9sentant de Johnson Controls (entrepreneur en rendement \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique) se sont joints \u00e0 l'\u00e9quipe pour s'entretenir avec les membres du MDN et des FAC.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cette ann\u00e9e, le th\u00e8me de la Journ\u00e9e mondiale de l'environnement \u00e9tait les solutions \u00e0 la pollution plastique. L'ONU estime que 19 \u00e0 23 millions de tonnes de plastique se retrouvent chaque ann\u00e9e dans les lacs, les rivi\u00e8res et les oc\u00e9ans. Des conseils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 donn\u00e9s sur les petits changements que le personnel peut faire pour r\u00e9duire le plastique, comme prendre des d\u00e9cisions conscientes pour \u00e9viter d'acheter des produits avec des emballages en plastique inutiles et recycler autant que possible.<\/p>\n

Diverses autres questions relatives au changement climatique et \u00e0 la biodiversit\u00e9 ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 abord\u00e9es dans nos stands d'information, conform\u00e9ment aux courriels quotidiens envoy\u00e9s aux membres de l'\u00e9quipe de la d\u00e9fense pendant la semaine de l'environnement. Il s'agissait notamment de l'\u00e9cologisation des achats, des plans de d\u00e9carbonisation, de la r\u00e9duction des d\u00e9chets et de l'\u00e9nergie, de la minimisation de l'introduction d'esp\u00e8ces envahissantes et d'\u00e9valuations de la r\u00e9silience climatique des infrastructures et des op\u00e9rations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ru Yap, de Johnson Controls, a mis l'accent sur la promotion de comportements \u00e9conomes en \u00e9nergie afin de r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions et d'atteindre l'objectif du Canada d'une consommation nette nulle d'ici 2050. Ru a parrain\u00e9 une activit\u00e9 qui comparait la consommation d'\u00e9nergie de diverses actions quotidiennes et demandait aux membres de l'\u00e9quipe de la D\u00e9fense de deviner quelles actions consommaient le plus d'\u00e9nergie. Les noms des participants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 inscrits \u00e0 une tombola pour avoir la chance de gagner des prix li\u00e9s \u00e0 l'efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, tels qu'un chargeur de t\u00e9l\u00e9phone portable \u00e0 \u00e9nergie solaire, des prises intelligentes, des ampoules LED et une barre d'alimentation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous voulons que les militaires et les employ\u00e9s du MDN comprennent ce qui consomme la majeure partie de l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9. Cette activit\u00e9 a permis aux membres de l'\u00e9quipe de d\u00e9fense de v\u00e9rifier leurs hypoth\u00e8ses concernant l'utilisation de l'\u00e9nergie \u00e0 la maison en ce qui concerne l'\u00e9clairage, le chauffage, la climatisation, les appareils \u00e9lectrom\u00e9nagers et \u00e9lectroniques. Par exemple, plus de 40 % de l'\u00e9nergie consomm\u00e9e par les m\u00e9nages en Am\u00e9rique du Nord provient du chauffage et de la climatisation de nos maisons \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Yap.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Si nous modifions l\u00e9g\u00e8rement notre comportement, par exemple en portant un pull \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur au lieu d'augmenter le thermostat, cela peut vraiment faire la diff\u00e9rence au niveau de la consommation d'\u00e9nergie et des factures d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9. Dans l'ensemble, de nombreuses discussions int\u00e9ressantes ont eu lieu sur les technologies efficaces en mati\u00e8re d'\u00e9nergie et sur les comportements permettant d'\u00e9conomiser l'\u00e9nergie. Nous mettons actuellement en \u0153uvre un certain nombre d'am\u00e9liorations de l'efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique dans nos installations de d\u00e9fense locales - alors que les efforts se poursuivent pour r\u00e9duire la consommation d'\u00e9nergie au travail, nous esp\u00e9rons que ces conversations contribueront \u00e0 encourager les actions d'\u00e9conomie d'\u00e9nergie \u00e0 la maison. \u00bb<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
