Le 12 juin, un petit rassemblement \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur du b\u00e2timent D-201 a marqu\u00e9 les derniers jours de travail sur les importantes r\u00e9novations effectu\u00e9es \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur du b\u00e2timent. LE MAT 1 BRYAN UNDERWOOD<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Un rassemblement marque l'ach\u00e8vement des travaux de r\u00e9novation du si\u00e8ge des FMAR(A)<\/b><\/b><\/b><\/h3>\n

Le voyage guid\u00e9 par Construction de D\u00e9fense Canada (CDC) qui a commenc\u00e9 en 2014 pour moderniser et r\u00e9nover le b\u00e2timent du quartier g\u00e9n\u00e9ral des Forces maritimes de l'Atlantique (FMAR(A)) (D-201), qui fuit depuis 40 ans, est presque termin\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

Situ\u00e9 dans l'arsenal canadien de Sa Majest\u00e9 \u00e0 Halifax, le D-201 est la plaque tournante de toute la production des FMAR(A), et le b\u00e2timent de 3 365 m2 b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie maintenant d'importantes am\u00e9liorations de son enveloppe ext\u00e9rieure. Le nouveau design \u00e9l\u00e9gant, con\u00e7u pour ressembler \u00e0 la proue des nouveaux navires de patrouille arctique et hauturi\u00e8re, apporte \u00e9galement d'importantes am\u00e9liorations en mati\u00e8re de s\u00fbret\u00e9, d'efficacit\u00e9 et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

Certains acteurs cl\u00e9s responsables des impressionnantes r\u00e9novations se sont rassembl\u00e9s \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur du b\u00e2timent D-201 le matin du 12 juin pour marquer la fin du projet. Le groupe comprenait Mike Wilson, gestionnaire de projet de l'Unit\u00e9 des op\u00e9rations immobili\u00e8res (Atlantique), Todd Osmond, coordonnateur de CDC sur place, Craig Mosher d'Architecture 49 et Jason Jackson, gestionnaire des installations du b\u00e2timent D-201. Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 rejoints par le Lcol James LeGresley, commandant de l'UOIA), et le Cam Brian Santarpia, commandant des FMAR(A) et de la Force op\u00e9rationnelle interarm\u00e9es de l'Atlantique (FOIA).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Il fallait un village. Il a fallu une \u00e9quipe de personnes pour que cela se produise, et je pense que cela met en \u00e9vidence le fait que notre personnel est probablement l'atout le plus important que nous ayons tous dans nos organisations \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Wilson, en exprimant sa fiert\u00e9 \u00e0 l'\u00e9gard de l'\u00e9quipe et du travail qu'elle a accompli au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es sur le b\u00e2timent.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wilson a \u00e9t\u00e9 charg\u00e9 \u00e0 l'origine de trouver la cause des fuites dans le b\u00e2timent et d'y mettre un terme.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Nous y sommes parvenus \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9. \u00ab Le b\u00e2timent n'a pas fui depuis que nous avons install\u00e9 la belle enveloppe que vous voyez actuellement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Avant de trouver comment r\u00e9parer les fuites, il \u00e9tait essentiel de d\u00e9terminer le coupable, et selon Craig Mosher, consultant en architecture, \u00ab il y avait des fuites parce que les barri\u00e8res anti-intemp\u00e9ries n'\u00e9taient pas correctement install\u00e9es ou se d\u00e9t\u00e9rioraient \u00bb. Mosher a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la r\u00e9daction d'un rapport d\u00e9crivant l'\u00e9tendue des probl\u00e8mes et la mani\u00e8re de les r\u00e9soudre.<\/span><\/p>\n

L'ancien placage de briques du b\u00e2timent D-201 a \u00e9t\u00e9 remplac\u00e9 par de nouveaux panneaux, des fen\u00eatres, une toiture et d'autres am\u00e9liorations afin d'accro\u00eetre l'efficacit\u00e9 et de mettre fin \u00e0 un probl\u00e8me frustrant de fuites dans le b\u00e2timent. LE MAT 1 BRYAN UNDERWOOD<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

La r\u00e9novation, d'un co\u00fbt de 9,7 millions de dollars, a consist\u00e9 \u00e0 enlever compl\u00e8tement l'ancien placage de briques, puis \u00e0 installer de nouveaux panneaux, portes et fen\u00eatres, ainsi que tous les ajustements int\u00e9rieurs n\u00e9cessaires. Le projet a \u00e9galement permis d'installer un toit flambant neuf, de revitaliser l'am\u00e9nagement paysager et de renforcer les mesures de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le Cam Santarpia a soulign\u00e9 l'importance du travail effectu\u00e9 au sein du D-201, o\u00f9 lui et son personnel de soutien \u00e9valuent et ex\u00e9cutent leurs t\u00e2ches quotidiennes tout en donnant des directives \u00e0 de nombreuses unit\u00e9s subordonn\u00e9es. Il a mentionn\u00e9 les troupes qui participent \u00e0 la lutte contre les incendies dans la r\u00e9gion de Shelburne, les op\u00e9rations de recherche et de sauvetage men\u00e9es par le Centre conjoint de coordination des op\u00e9rations de sauvetage et les op\u00e9rations du NCSM Montr\u00e9al dans l'Indo-Pacifique, qui sont toutes command\u00e9es \u00e0 partir du b\u00e2timent du QG. <\/span>Montr\u00e9al <\/span><\/i>in the Indo-Pacific as operations that are all commanded out of the HQ building.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Il s'agit probablement du quartier g\u00e9n\u00e9ral op\u00e9rationnel le plus interarm\u00e9es des Forces canadiennes \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Cam Santarpia.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Il s'agissait d'un grand projet visant \u00e0 garantir que le Canada dispose de cette capacit\u00e9 pour les d\u00e9cennies, voire le si\u00e8cle \u00e0 venir. C'est un travail incroyable qui a l'air d'un million de dollars.<\/span><\/p>\n

Les responsables du projet ont \u00e9galement salu\u00e9 la patience des employ\u00e9s et du personnel travaillant dans le b\u00e2timent, dont beaucoup ont vu leur lieu de travail compl\u00e8tement boulevers\u00e9 pendant les travaux.<\/span><\/p>\n
