Apr\u00e8s que le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral a approuv\u00e9 une demande de la province de la Nouvelle-\u00c9cosse pour l'aide des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes en r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 une s\u00e9rie d'incendies de for\u00eat, une \u00e9quipe de l'Unit\u00e9 d'intervention imm\u00e9diate de la 5e Division canadienne a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9ploy\u00e9e \u00e0 partir de la BS 5 Div CA Gagetown pour commencer \u00e0 fournir de l'aide dans le cadre de l'op\u00e9ration Lentus. Les \u00e9quipes ont d'abord re\u00e7u une formation \u00e0 la lutte contre les incendies de for\u00eat au cours du week-end des 3 et 4 juin, et sont maintenant en contact avec les autorit\u00e9s locales pour d\u00e9terminer comment elles peuvent \u00eatre le plus utiles possible. Un agent de liaison des FAC a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 int\u00e9gr\u00e9 au Centre provincial des op\u00e9rations d'urgence afin d'\u00e9valuer la situation et de contribuer aux efforts de planification. Il est pr\u00e9vu que les ressources des FAC soient fournies pour une p\u00e9riode initiale de trois semaines, avec une possibilit\u00e9 de prolongation d'une semaine.<\/p>\n
