Il n'a pas respect\u00e9 son programme de remise en forme et a adopt\u00e9 un r\u00e9gime qui privil\u00e9giait les plats frits \u00e0 emporter plut\u00f4t que les repas sains. \u00c0 la fin du d\u00e9ploiement, il avait pris plus de 65 livres.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Je savais que ce n'\u00e9tait pas la fa\u00e7on dont je voulais vivre \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9. Autrefois joueur de basket-ball de haut niveau, le deuxi\u00e8me officier L\u00e9ger a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu'il avait \u00e9t\u00e9 frapp\u00e9 par son incapacit\u00e9 \u00e0 suivre le rythme de ses camarades de l'\u00e9quipe de basket-ball de Stadacona.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Quelque chose devait changer. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Depuis, le M 2 Leger s'est lanc\u00e9 dans un parcours de sant\u00e9 et d'exercice qui lui a permis de d\u00e9passer ses objectifs de forme physique et de saisir de nouvelles opportunit\u00e9s en tant que marin. Il a \u00e9galement us\u00e9 de son influence pour promouvoir les avantages d'un mode de vie sain et actif aupr\u00e8s de ses coll\u00e8gues de la MRC, et plus particuli\u00e8rement aupr\u00e8s de ses \u00e9l\u00e8ves en tant qu'instructeur \u00e0 l'\u00c9cole de la flotte (Atlantique).<\/p>\n<p>Il a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 fr\u00e9quenter la salle de sport cinq fois par semaine apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9ploiement de 2017, et bien qu'il ait connu un certain succ\u00e8s au d\u00e9but, une recommandation de son m\u00e9decin a conduit \u00e0 une rencontre utile avec un di\u00e9t\u00e9ticien de la base. Il s'est rendu compte que, m\u00eame en faisant r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement de l'exercice, il consommait plus de nourriture que son corps n'en avait besoin.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Cela m'a ouvert les yeux, car la di\u00e9t\u00e9ticienne m'a rapidement fait comprendre que je mangeais trop \u00bb, explique-t-il.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Une fois que j'ai remis de l'ordre dans mon alimentation, j'ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 voir les r\u00e9sultats que j'attendais. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Ces progr\u00e8s ont encourag\u00e9 le M 2 Leger \u00e0 se d\u00e9passer physiquement, ce qu'il a fait de mani\u00e8re importante apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 affect\u00e9 au bureau \u00e0 terre du NCSM Harry DeWolf en 2018. Avec l'encouragement de l'officier de plong\u00e9e de son navire, il a surmont\u00e9 ses h\u00e9sitations ant\u00e9rieures concernant le cours de plongeur de l'\u00e9quipe de navire de la MRC, s'inscrivant et terminant par la suite le programme \u00e9reintant de six semaines.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Apr\u00e8s le cours de plong\u00e9e, j'avais d\u00e9pass\u00e9 mon objectif initial de perte de poids, j'avais 185 kg, et je sentais que je pouvais me concentrer davantage sur des objectifs physiques comme la musculation et l'am\u00e9lioration de ma capacit\u00e9 cardio-vasculaire \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10371\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10371\" style=\"width: 371px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10371\" src=\"https:\/\/tridentnewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Reconditioning-Feature-May-2023-21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"371\" height=\"273\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tridentnewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Reconditioning-Feature-May-2023-21.jpg 828w, https:\/\/tridentnewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Reconditioning-Feature-May-2023-21-300x221.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tridentnewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Reconditioning-Feature-May-2023-21-768x566.jpg 768w, https:\/\/tridentnewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Reconditioning-Feature-May-2023-21-16x12.jpg 16w, https:\/\/tridentnewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Reconditioning-Feature-May-2023-21-431x318.jpg 431w, https:\/\/tridentnewspaper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Reconditioning-Feature-May-2023-21-130x96.jpg 130w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 371px) 100vw, 371px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10371\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><i>D\u00e9sormais plongeur de l'\u00e9quipe de bord, le M 2 Leger a plong\u00e9 sur la coque du NCSM Fredericton apr\u00e8s que le navire a subi des avaries lors de la travers\u00e9e de l'Atlantique.<\/i><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Il est \u00e9galement devenu accro \u00e0 la plong\u00e9e et a acquis la confiance n\u00e9cessaire pour aller encore plus loin dans ses nouvelles comp\u00e9tences, en passant la difficile \u00e9valuation de plongeur d'habilitation men\u00e9e \u00e0 Fleet Diving Unity (Pacific) \u00e0 Esquimalt au d\u00e9but de l'ann\u00e9e 2020. Bien qu'il n'ait finalement pas \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 pour changer de m\u00e9tier et devenir plongeur \u00e0 plein temps, cette r\u00e9ussite personnelle est significative et souligne l'importance des changements apport\u00e9s \u00e0 son mode de vie. Le M 2 Leger essaie maintenant de transmettre ces le\u00e7ons \u00e0 d'autres.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab J'essaie d'int\u00e9grer diverses formes d'entra\u00eenement physique pour mes \u00e9l\u00e8ves afin de promouvoir un mode de vie sain et actif \u00bb, explique-t-il, ajoutant qu'il a re\u00e7u des commentaires positifs de la part de ses \u00e9l\u00e8ves et qu'il a m\u00eame remarqu\u00e9 un changement d'attitude et d'attention \u00e0 la suite des s\u00e9ances d'entra\u00eenement physique.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Je crois sinc\u00e8rement que l'exercice est une excellente forme de \u00ab m\u00e9decine \u00bb pour tous les membres des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes... Cette exp\u00e9rience dans ma vie m'a permis de r\u00e9aliser que je pouvais me fixer des objectifs et r\u00e9ussir gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 mon travail et \u00e0 ma d\u00e9termination. Elle m'a donn\u00e9 un but pour am\u00e9liorer continuellement ma condition physique et explorer des options dans ma carri\u00e8re que j'avais d'abord cru impossibles. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\"><i>Le programme de reconditionnement des PSP est un programme de conditionnement physique con\u00e7u pour r\u00e9pondre aux exigences des membres des FAC qui souffrent de blessures ou de maladies.
