Dans le cadre de l'op\u00e9ration Savanne, la r\u00e9ponse du gouvernement canadien \u00e0 l'aggravation de la crise de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 au Soudan, le NCSM Montr\u00e9al et le NM Ast\u00e9rix ont r\u00e9cemment \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9affect\u00e9s de leur d\u00e9ploiement en cours dans le cadre de l'op\u00e9ration Projection pour apporter leur aide dans la r\u00e9gion, \u00e0 l'appui d'Affaires mondiales Canada. Les navires ont op\u00e9r\u00e9 dans la mer Rouge, ajoutant une couche suppl\u00e9mentaire de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et offrant des fournitures aux alli\u00e9s qui s'efforcent d'\u00e9vacuer leurs citoyens et r\u00e9sidents du pays.\n

\nEn plus de la pr\u00e9sence de la Marine royale canadienne au large, environ 200 membres des FAC \u00e9taient au sol dans la r\u00e9gion, et deux avions CC-130J Hercules de l'ARC ont aid\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9vacuer 536 personnes du 27 au 29 avril, dont 176 citoyens canadiens et r\u00e9sidents permanents. Le r\u00f4le du Canada sera d\u00e9sormais ax\u00e9 sur le soutien consulaire, et le Montr\u00e9al et l'Ast\u00e9rix sont de nouveau en route vers l'Indo-Pacifique pour soutenir l'op\u00e9ration Projection.<\/p>\n
