Par l'Organisation consultative de la Fiert\u00e9 de l'\u00c9quipe de la D\u00e9fense (OCFED)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Le 17 mai est la Journ\u00e9e internationale contre l'homophobie, la transphobie et la biphobie. Chacun a le droit d'\u00eatre soi-m\u00eame et de se sentir en s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Nous invitons tout le monde \u00e0 se joindre aux membres de la communaut\u00e9 2ELGBTQI+ pour soutenir et r\u00e9affirmer leur droit fondamental \u00e0 \u00eatre trait\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re \u00e9gale. Le Canada est un leader en mati\u00e8re de promotion et de protection des droits de l'homme de la communaut\u00e9 2ELGBTQI+, mais il reste du travail \u00e0 faire pour mettre fin \u00e0 la discrimination.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Certains membres encore en service aujourd'hui ont v\u00e9cu la p\u00e9riode allant des ann\u00e9es 1950 au milieu des ann\u00e9es 1990, connue sous le nom de \"purge LGBT\". Pendant cette p\u00e9riode, les membres de la communaut\u00e9 2ELGBTQI+ des Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes, de la GRC et de la fonction publique f\u00e9d\u00e9rale ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pers\u00e9cut\u00e9s pour ce qu'ils \u00e9taient. Ils ont fait l'objet d'actions abusives et violentes, notamment d'enqu\u00eates, de sanctions, et ont souvent \u00e9t\u00e9 licenci\u00e9s par principe. Le documentaire de Sarah Fodey, The Fruit Machine, explore la chasse aux sorci\u00e8res homosexuelles durant cette p\u00e9riode.
