La matelot de 1re classe Natassia Lei, membre de l'\u00c9cole navale (Atlantique) et de l'\u00e9quipe f\u00e9minine de hockey des Mariners de la BFC Halifax, a r\u00e9dig\u00e9 ce compte rendu de la r\u00e9cente m\u00e9daille d'argent remport\u00e9e par l'\u00e9quipe au championnat national de la FAC.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Les Mariners ont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 la r\u00e9gion de l'Atlantique, remportant la m\u00e9daille d'argent.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Avant-match : <\/b>Apr\u00e8s une interruption de trois ans en raison de la pand\u00e9mie de Covid-19, le hockey est revenu au Championnat national de hockey f\u00e9minin de la CAF 2023, qui s'est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 \u00e0 la BFC Trenton du 20 au 25 mars. Les Mariners de Halifax repr\u00e9sentaient le Canada atlantique, avec des joueuses venant d'aussi pr\u00e8s que Gagetown et Greenwood, et d'aussi loin que la BFC Gander. En dehors de la glace, l'\u00e9quipe est compos\u00e9e d'une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de m\u00e9tiers : pilotes, plongeurs, marins, musiciens, techniciens, commis et policiers militaires. Sur la glace, la seule chose qui comptait \u00e9tait le \u00ab M \u00bbsur le devant du maillot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

1\u00e8re p\u00e9riode :<\/b> Le tournoi a d\u00e9but\u00e9 avec un affrontement entre les Mariners et les Lions de Valcartier. L'\u00e9quipe de la c\u00f4te Est esp\u00e9rait r\u00e9duire le rugissement des Lions \u00e0 un simple miaulement, mais ce ne fut pas le cas : 4-1 fut le score final du premier match. Le deuxi\u00e8me match ne se termine pas mieux avec une autre d\u00e9faite, 4-2, contre les Trenton Flyers. Enfin, un classique naval contre les Tritons d'Esquimalt de la c\u00f4te ouest a abouti \u00e0 un autre match contre les Mariners, avec une victoire de 3 \u00e0 2 pour les Tritons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2\u00e8me p\u00e9riode :<\/b> Malgr\u00e9 le trio d\u00e9cevant de d\u00e9faites dans le tournoi \u00e0 la ronde, cela n'a pas d\u00e9courag\u00e9 les Mariners. Au contraire, cela leur a donn\u00e9 l'occasion de reconsid\u00e9rer la strat\u00e9gie de l'\u00e9quipe et de s'en tenir aux principes fondamentaux inh\u00e9rents \u00e0 une \u00e9quipe gagnante : gagner les batailles, contr\u00f4ler les jeux et, surtout, s'amuser. Alors que nous nous dirigions vers la demi-finale contre les favorites du tournoi, les Lions de Valcartier, la d\u00e9termination et le dynamisme des joueuses se sont manifest\u00e9s sur la glace. La Mat 1 Amber Gaudette a ouvert la voie en marquant un but de haut niveau. Valcartier a r\u00e9pliqu\u00e9 avec un de ses propres buts pour \u00e9galiser le match \u00e0 1-1. Cependant, tout comme la t\u00e9nacit\u00e9 est une vertu dans la vie, elle l'est aussi sur la glace. Au milieu de la troisi\u00e8me p\u00e9riode, la Mat 1 Rebecca Warren, s'enfon\u00e7ant dans la bande droite, poursuivie par trois Lions, a habilement d\u00e9jou\u00e9 la gardienne et plac\u00e9 la rondelle entre les deux poteaux pour assurer une avance de 2 \u00e0 1 aux Mariners. Ce but s'est av\u00e9r\u00e9 d\u00e9cisif et a envoy\u00e9 les East Coasters en finale contre les Trenton Flyers, l'\u00e9quipe locale.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3\u00e8me p\u00e9riode :<\/b> Les Mariners de Halifax ont abord\u00e9 la finale avec calme, sang-froid et s\u00e9r\u00e9nit\u00e9. Mettant de c\u00f4t\u00e9 leur d\u00e9faite pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente contre Trenton, les Mariners ont travaill\u00e9 dur sur la glace et ont gard\u00e9 leurs adversaires sur les talons. Trenton a \u00e9t\u00e9 le premier \u00e0 ouvrir le tableau d'affichage, mais les Mariners ont rapidement cr\u00e9\u00e9 l'\u00e9galit\u00e9. La bataille s'est poursuivie pendant les trois p\u00e9riodes du temps r\u00e9glementaire, avec des arr\u00eats d\u00e9cisifs de Mat 3 Adeline Small, une pr\u00e9sence g\u00e9ante entre les tuyaux. L'apr\u00e8s-match :<\/b> Bien que le championnat soit termin\u00e9 et que l'heure de raccrocher les patins pour l'\u00e9t\u00e9 approche \u00e0 grands pas, cela ne signifie pas la fin. Loin de l\u00e0. Apr\u00e8s l'interruption de CAF Sports en raison de la pand\u00e9mie de Covid-19, c'est avec le plus grand plaisir que nous sommes revenus sur la glace avec le maillot des Mariners. La majorit\u00e9 des membres de l'\u00e9quipe reviendront l'ann\u00e9e prochaine pour tenter \u00e0 nouveau de remporter l'or.<\/span><\/p>\n
