Un nouveau capitaine d'armes pour le NCSM Halifax apr\u00e8s une ann\u00e9e exceptionnelle<\/h3>\n

Le capitaine d'armes sortant du NCSM Halifax a fait part d'un sentiment doux-amer lors de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de changement de nomination qui s'est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e \u00e0 la tour Juno le 14 avril. Pendant pr\u00e8s de deux ans, il a vu se d\u00e9velopper une unit\u00e9 soud\u00e9e et a d\u00e9crit les relations \u00e9troites qu'il entretient avec les membres de l'\u00e9quipage.<\/p>\n

Son mandat de capitaine d'armes a co\u00efncid\u00e9 avec un programme charg\u00e9 du NCSM Halifax, marqu\u00e9 par un d\u00e9ploiement de pr\u00e8s de cinq mois dans le cadre de l'op\u00e9ration R\u00e9assurance au d\u00e9but de 2022. La participation du Halifax \u00e0 cette mission \u00e9tait inattendue et s'inscrivait dans le cadre de la r\u00e9ponse du Canada \u00e0 l'invasion de l'Ukraine par la Russie. Le Halifax s'est vu d\u00e9cerner la coupe de l'amiral 2022 en grande partie gr\u00e2ce au succ\u00e8s du navire lors de ce d\u00e9ploiement.\n

\nMais le premier ma\u00eetre de 1re classe Esquivel s'est davantage attach\u00e9 \u00e0 faire l'\u00e9loge de son \u00e9quipage qu'\u00e0 raconter les op\u00e9rations qu'il a men\u00e9es pendant son s\u00e9jour au sein de l'\u00e9quipe de commandement, et il a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que ce qui lui manquera le plus, ce sont ses interactions quotidiennes avec l'\u00e9quipe lors de ses rondes, que ce soit \u00e0 bord du navire ou plus tard au bureau \u00e0 terre.<\/p>\n

\u00ab C'est ce que j'aime faire, m'assurer que tout le monde est en s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et que tout va bien, parler avec l'\u00e9quipage et apprendre d'eux, entendre ce qu'ils aiment et ce qu'ils n'aiment pas, ce qui les pr\u00e9occupe et ce qui les pr\u00e9occupe. Il a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 important pour moi que l'\u00e9quipage sente que j'\u00e9tais un membre de l'\u00e9quipe, et pas seulement quelqu'un qui a de l'autorit\u00e9 \u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

Le capitaine de fr\u00e9gate Kyle Redshaw, commandant du Halifax, a remerci\u00e9 le premier ma\u00eetre d'\u00e9quipage Esquivel pour son professionnalisme et son enthousiasme contagieux au cours des deux derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, et a profit\u00e9 de l'occasion pour souhaiter la bienvenue \u00e0 son nouveau capitaine d'armes, le premier ma\u00eetre d'\u00e9quipage Shawn Swinimer, au sein de l'\u00e9quipe.<\/p>\n

Le Pm 1 Swinimer a rejoint la Marine royale canadienne en tant qu'op\u00e9rateur sonar il y a plus de 25 ans, et a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu'il \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s honor\u00e9 d'occuper ce poste. Malgr\u00e9 les difficult\u00e9s actuelles li\u00e9es au recrutement et \u00e0 la cadence des op\u00e9rations, il a ajout\u00e9 que le temps pass\u00e9 avec sa nouvelle \u00e9quipe l'a rendu optimiste.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab Je ne suis \u00e0 Halifax que depuis peu de temps, mais j'ai vu des gens faire des choses extraordinaires et j'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 t\u00e9moin d'un professionnalisme remarquable \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le premier ma\u00eetre de 1re classe Swinimer.<\/span>
