MV Asterix arrived in Halifax on December 27. The former commercial container ship has been converted by Davie Shipbuilding’s Project Resolve to serve as the interim Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment for the Royal Canadian Navy. Asterix will sail with a mixed crew of civilian mariners and RCN sailors, providing capabilities such as at-sea oiler replenishment, aviation support, space for medical support & humanitarian assistance/disaster relief.
